The bank at the corner, not in a call center.
Most of us use a checking account nearly every day — a debit card at the feed store, an online purchase, a check for the ballfield fundraiser. At First State Bank of Uvalde you get accounts built for that, opened by someone who lives here and answers the phone when you call.
Read our historyYou're not a number here.
“No matter which branch I visit in Uvalde, the service I receive is EXCELLENT! Every employee I deal with is absolutely amazing, each and every time.”
“I love my bank. I'm not a number, I'm known by my name — and that says a lot.”
What do I need to open an account?
A government-issued photo ID, your Social Security number, and a $100 opening deposit. Start online, or contact your local office to speak with a member of our banking team.
Which account should I choose?
If you want nothing to think about, Advantage has no monthly service charge. If you use your debit card regularly, Star waives its charge on activity. Under 24 or keeping a $500 average balance? Star Plus. Keeping more than $50,000 with us? Premier earns interest with no charge.
Is online banking included?
Yes. Free online and mobile banking, free online bill pay, and free phone banking come with all four accounts. Enrollment and sign-in now use an email one-time passcode rather than security questions.
Can I bank by mail?
Yes — and the bank pays postage both ways on Bank-by-Mail deposits.
Are my deposits insured?
Yes. First State Bank of Uvalde is FDIC-insured, backed by the full faith and credit of the U.S. Government.
